Wednesday Night Racing Postponed until 1-12-22

WEDNESDAY NIGHT RACE LEAGUE

Wednesday Night Racing will make its triumphant return…1/12/22

Mother Nature has brought in some natural snow and amazing snowmaking conditions. We still need to build enough base to be able to set gates, so we are postponing our start. We still expect to have 6 nights of racing action ahead of us!

Join us for gate bashing fun for just $75 in advance for the whole season or $20/night if paid day of.

Swiss Valley provides an excellent opportunity for any advanced beginner through expert skier, of all ages – male or female, to hit the gates and have some fun!  Mom, Dad, Teenager, Neighbor, Friends, Co-Workers are all invited to join our scheduled Wednesday night racing. On our race nights,  two courses will be set by 6:00PM.  Each racer is encouraged to make 4 runs with the best of two being used for the nightly awards.

Enjoy awards, food and drink specials in our Chalet or Fireside Picnic Area to celebrate your victory! Those under the age of 21 will celebrate Fireside after racing while those 21 & Up can tell gate bashing stories while enjoying food and drink specials in the Chalet!  We encourage all to participate! Join us for this family friendly competition and night out at Swiss Valley!

RACE FORMAT

We will have two divisions, Adult/Challenge & Novice/Family:

  • The Adult/Challenge Course will be for those expecting a more technically challenging race course and for those with racing experience.
  • The Novice/Family Course will be set to encourage skill development and advance your skiing technique through the challenge of competition.
  • Scoring will be points based and by division/class.

Mourning the loss of JW Wiseman, Founder of Swiss Valley

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jim (‘JW’) Wiseman, owner and founder of Swiss Valley Ski & Snowboard Area. In 1968, Jim, a high school principal and former wife Sandra Wiseman, purchased a small ski area in rural Southwest Michigan with a dream and a disciplined work ethic. He devoted the rest of his life and many years of hard work to build and grow a thriving snow sports business.

For more than 5 decades, hundreds of thousands of guests have learned to ski and snowboard on the slopes of Swiss Valley, warmed up around the fireplace, and après ski with winter friends in the Chalet. He created a very special place that has been enjoyed by generations.

Hooray for more Ski Days!
Open with limited terrain.
Wed., Dec 29 9am-7pm
Thurs., Dec 30 9am-7pm
Friday, Dec 31 9am-7pm

We plan to be open Saturday and Sunday – however we will take advantage of any snowmaking and additional grooming opportunities the new year gives us.

What we need … cold temps and lower humidity to make more snow and groom out what piles we have.

What we want… is lots of snow. ❄️ but if Mother Nature continues to be stubborn, we will take the cold temps.
