Swiss Valley has several job opportunities for those looking for employment. Seasonal jobs include Food & Beverage, Bartenders and Servers, Ski & Board Shop Retail and Technician, Chairlift Operations, Equipment Rental Tech, Snowmaking, Ski & Snowboard Instructors, and Ticket Sales.

CAFÉ’ 225 Age 15+
Job Summary: All general kitchen duties including: tray delivery, cashier, line serving, dish washing, pots and pan washing, sanitation of the department and customer service in the cafe.
Essential Functions:
– Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
– Utilizes recipe and correct production techniques.
– Assists in maintaining portion control and reduced waste.
– Completes re-stocking of the assigned work area.
– Maintains a high level of cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned work area.
This position starts at $11.50 per hour as well as tips.
SNOWSPORTS INSTRUCTING Age 14+
Looking to add fun friendly skiers and snowboarders to our team of instructors that want to further their snow sport skills, get paid to help other people learn & enjoy the sport we all already love, and to ski and snowboard for free in their spare time. No teaching experience needed. We teach you how to teach! All you need is Black Snow Pants, a Friendly smile, and a Can-do Attitude!
Starting wage for instructors is $14/per lesson – instructors receive an Unlimited Season Pass, and hourly wage goes up to $15 upon completion of 3 instructor clinics. If instructor has PSIA or AASI certifications, pay rate increases.
EQUIPMENT RENTAL Age 17+
The rental equipment team is located inside our rental building next to our main lodge. This technical role ensures our guests are fitted properly with equipment for their day of skiing or snowboarding. In addition to providing exceptional guest service, other responsibilities include verifying rental information, apparel rental, boot fitting, ski and snowboard setups, rental fleet testing and maintenance, cleaning and other duties as assigned. Training is provided.
This position starts at $12.50 per hour with raises based on successful completion of certifications.
SKI & BOARD SHOP Age 17+
Our Ski & Board Shop team is in our lower lodge. In addition to providing exceptional guest service, other responsibilities include having the knowledge of snow sports equipment and merchandise, answering guest questions. Some employees are asked to tune and tech equipment. Training is provided.
This position starts at $10.50 per hour.
A seasonal commission structure applies to Retail Sales & Certified Ski/Board Technicians.
TICKET SALES /BUSINESS OFFICE
Our ski area ticket sales team is located inside our main lodge. Business Management assists with all aspects of the business’s operation. Both are fast-paced roles that are perfect for those who are positive, outgoing, and energetic. In addition to providing exceptional guest services, other responsibilities including selling tickets, answering guest questions in person and over the phone and other duties as assigned. Ticket sellers must be detail oriented, tech savvy and be comfortable engaging with customers.
These positions starts at $11.50 per hour.
SNOWMAKING Age 18+
Snowmaking puts the snow in snow sports. Our snowmakers are critically important for our season. They start, adjust, shut down, and help move snowguns everywhere on the mountain, every night we can make snow. They monitor snow quality and adjust equipment frequently, cleaning snow away from hoses, hydrants, or other equipment as required.
Requirements:
- Ability to work overnight, in winter weather, on icy terrain
- Appropriate water resistant winter clothing, gloves and boots
- Flexible schedule – we can’t schedule cold weather
- Ability to regularly lift 20 lbs and occasionally 50+ lbs
- Willingness to cross train and help other departments, particularly Lift Operations
This position starts at $14.00 per hour with a night shift premium of an additional $2 per hour. Most snowmaking hours will be night shift. Snowmakers are expected to work Lift Operations during warm spells and after snowmaking finishes for the season.
LIFT OPERATIONS Age 18+
Our chairlift operators are the “faces” and “personalities” that our guests come to love. These employees operate our chairlifts and rope tows during the winter and interact with guests as they get on and off lifts. Many guests come to know the chairlift operators and enjoy their interactions with them. We have openings for full-time seasonal and part-time seasonal in this department.
This position starts at $14 per hour with chances for weekly bonuses based on weekly hours worked.
2023/2024 Lift Operations Bonus Structure for Operators in good standing:
40 hours within a week Monday-Sunday $50
41-60 hours within a week Monday-Sunday $75
61+ hours within a week Monday-Sunday $100
TERRAIN PARK STAFF Age 16+
Become a member of our terrain park crew. This position gets some of the most “on-snow” time of all employees. These sought after positions are park riders or skiers and snowboarders who would like to become better park riders and share their passion for terrain parks. Applicants should know and follow the Skier’s Responsibility Code and SMART Style Terrain Park Safety Code. Park Crew Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to Lift 60lbs, Proper Attire with Ability to Work Outdoors the entire scheduled shift, Use of Power and Hand Tools.
Junior Park Crew Employees (Age 16 – 17) are expected to use hand tools (shovels & rakes) to maintain, shape and build under the supervision of the Terrain Park Manager.
Junior Park Crew Members receive $10.50/hour and a Season Pass. These positions are limited. (3 per season)
Senior Park Crew Employees (Age 18+) Assist in the Opening and Closing of the Parks, Test Features, Maintain and Create Features, Approaches and Landings, Constant & Consistent Grooming. Senior Park Crew is expected to mentor Junior Park Crew. Duties also include: Lift Operations, Event Planning & Management, Assistance with Snowsports Lessons, Rental Department Surge Management and Parking Lot Surge Management/Maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
Senior Positions start at $12.50 per hour and a Season Pass.
CUSTODIAN / JANITOR
Custodian / Janitor
Early morning shift: 5:00 AM – 8:30 AM
Duties and responsibilities can include general cleaning of a buildings and keeping them maintained and in good condition. This includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, minor fix-it tasks, replenishing supplies, taking out trash, washing and cleaning windows and mirrors, and other duties as assigned.
Must have reliable transportation and like working alone. This is a great opportunity for a second job, stay at home care-giver or retired person.
This Custodial/Janitorial position starts at $12.00 per hour.
CHALET FOOD & SPIRITS
Chalet Servers ($4.00/hour) must be +17 years old, and Chalet Bartenders ($10.50/hr) must be +18 years old. This is an hourly position and will include tips. These team members must be positive, energetic, and able to multitask.
Our food and beverage team helps support our dining operations in several ways. These team members do a variety of tasks including bussing tables, cash register operations, washing dishes, food preparation, stocking inventory items and cleaning.
Café’ 225 positions and Chalet Dishwasher/Kitchen staff start at $11.50 per hour.
