/in Daily Snow Report, Events, Uncategorized, What's Happening! /by adminWinter has finally arrived at Swiss Valley and the rest of Southwest Michigan. We are excited and hope you are too! Over 6″ of snow has fallen as of Thursday evening and looks like we could still get some more overnight. Snowmaking will fire up tonight as the temps arrive right around 8pm. We will be making snow area wide all night and into the day on Friday, and whenever temps allow! This should allow us to continually add more terrain as the weekend unfolds.
FRIDAY: We will have a delayed opening at NOON on Friday in order to groom out the snow we make overnight. We will be adding more terrain and lifts as the day goes on. We plan to open Friday with: Easy Over Rope Tows, Quad 83 Chair and Triple Chair Serving Easy Over 1, 2 & 3, Sandy’s Dandy, Swiss Miss & Triple. We will continue making snow on the entire Quad 80 side until the temps make us quit. We plan to open Quad 80 Chair sometime mid afternoon, hopefully by 2 or 3pm.
Friday Hours: 12:00pm – 9:00 pm
Lift Tickets: $42 Adult, $36 Junior
Rentals: $25
Saturday: We will open Saturday morning at 9:00am and close at 9:00 pm with all 3 chairs spinning and as many runs as we are able to open. We will be hosting the Swiss Valley JDT Invitational on Sandy’s Dandy and Three Sisters in the AM, so be aware, those runs will be closed for the first few hours as the kids race. We anticipate public opening mid-morning for Sandy’s Dandy and around mid-day for Three Sisters. There will be live music in the chalet by Karly-n-Fred from 2pm to 5pm. Come in, have a meal, a drink and enjoy some tunes!

Mother Nature….Why? It’s supposed to be WINTER!!!!
/in Daily Snow Report, Uncategorized, What's Happening! /by adminAs they say, if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute… Well, Mother Nature, we’ve been waiting, and waiting and waiting. What was an amazing weather start to the season, a blizzard, 20+ inches of snow, and amazing skier and boarder turn-out, turned into 4 days of rain, fog, and spring-like ski conditions, and AMAZING SKIER & BOARDER TURN-OUT!
First of all, Thank You to every one who has come out and skied with us for the last 8 days, it’s been great! Unfortunately, the weather has taken it’s toll on our snow and we have decided to suspend operations for Tuesday, January 3rd and Wednesday January 4th, 2023.
We are watching the weather and will determine opening status for Thursday as soon as possible. In addition, we are actively watching the weather for our next snowmaking window and plan a full assault on the hill. We will be ready to fire up our snowmaking system up as soon as the temperatures allow.
We look forward to skiing with you again very soon.
Rest up, do your snow dances, sacrifice some skis to ULLR, and get ready to join us on the slopes again very soon!
SNOWMAKING HAS BEGUN!!!!!
/in Daily Snow Report, Ski & Board Shop, Terrain Park, Uncategorized, What's Happening! /by adminWhat does it take to open a ski area? SNOW. What are we making? SNOW!!! We fired up our new and improved snowmaking system on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. Pushing more water at a higher pressure is really paying off. Our older snow guns are doing better, and our NEW snowguns are absolutely HAMMERING it!
The weather is cooperating and it appears we will continue for at least the next 20 hours or so until we have to take a short break to wait for more cold air to work its way in.
BTW, have you seen the forecast? We are under a SEVERE WINTER WARNING with several inches to over a foot of snow expected by opening day….We couldn’t ask for anything better.
Ski you FRIDAY DECEMBER 23rd at 9:00 AM!
