Operations Update 2/27/23

Due to the unseasonable weather forecast for Monday 2/27/23, we have decided to close for the day and allow the snow to rest while we weather yet ANOTHER rain event this “winter”. We plan to reopen Tuesday February 28th at 5pm and ski until 9pm. We plan to continue with evening operations (5pm-9pm) Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. We will watch the forecast closely and give an update on hours for Friday as soon as we can. As always, please check the snow report, social media, or the snow phone for the latest updates before traveling.

We still have a few events planned for the rest of the season. Fifth Grader Friday 3/3/23, where fifth graders ski for only $20. Our “Slush Cup” is scheduled for Saturday March 4th, stay tuned for details! And Our final Scout Day of the Season on 3/5/23.

HOVLAND SNOWSKATE DEMO

Hovland snowskate demo January 28th and 29th from 12PM – 4PM. Stop by the tent at the top of Quad 83 and learn about snowskates and take a demo out. This is a fun way to get out and enjoy the slopes if you are looking for something just a little bit different.

We will reopen Friday at Noon!

We will remain closed tomorrow, Thursday January 5th, and plan to reopen Friday January 6th from 12pm – 9pm with limited terrain and reduced rates.

Available terrain will be Easy Over beginner area, and Quad 83 chair serving both Sandy’s Dandy and Swiss Miss. We will also include a small hike to terrain park at the bottom of Triple/Mountain Do.

We will attempt to make snow at every chance possible, planning to add additional terrain as soon as possible.

If you have skis or boards in the ski shop, please email Brett@SkiSwissValley.com to make arrangements.

OPERATIONS UPDATE: DECEMBER 22, 2022

OPERATIONS UPDATE:

Swiss Valley will suspend operations on December 23rd, 24th and 25th. Taking into consideration the well-being of our guests and staff, and our local emergency services, the slopes will not be open for skiing or snowboarding, this Friday, 12/23, Saurday, 12/24 and Sunday 12/25.

We will open for the season on Monday December 26th. Hours TBD.

All of Southwest Michigan is under a BLIZZARD Warning Thursday thru Sunday. This significant weather system may impact operations. Please check here, our snowphone and social media channels for updates before traveling.

SNOWMAKING HAS BEGUN!!!!!

What does it take to open a ski area? SNOW. What are we making? SNOW!!! We fired up our new and improved snowmaking system on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM. Pushing more water at a higher pressure is really paying off. Our older snow guns are doing better, and our NEW snowguns are absolutely HAMMERING it!

The weather is cooperating and it appears we will continue for at least the next 20 hours or so until we have to take a short break to wait for more cold air to work its way in.

BTW, have you seen the forecast? We are under a SEVERE WINTER WARNING with several inches to over a foot of snow expected by opening day….We couldn’t ask for anything better.

Ski you FRIDAY DECEMBER 23rd at 9:00 AM!
