Ski Shop Opens to Walk-in Shoppers Friday, Dec 17

Join the Swiss Valley Volunteer Ski Patrol – Meet & Greet November 21 – 11am – 2pm

Swiss Valley Ski Patrol is comprised of dedicated volunteers and is an active member of the National Ski Patrol’s central division. All training and certifications are conducted through the National Ski Patrol organization. Swiss Valley Ski Patrol is a member of the Central Division and is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Interested in becoming a Swiss Valley Patroller? Prerequisites of becoming a patroller include a strong desire to help others, provide emergency care, promote ski safety, and a willingness to work outdoors on the slopes. Candidates will be trained and be required to pass the Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) course, a Professional CPR w/AED certification and a ski/snowboard proficiency tests. As members become more experienced and improve their skills, they may test for higher certification levels.

Members will be able to:

Learn Outdoor Emergency Care, First Aid & CPR
Improve current skiing and/or snowboarding skills through our training clinics by certified instructors.
Skiing benefits available for patrollers and their families.
Meet new friends! We currently have more than 60 members with a variety of backgrounds & knowledge.
Help people & become a vital part of our Swiss Valley Team!

Junior Development Team (JDT) Registration Deadline is December 12th.

Junior Development Team (JDT)

Swiss Valley Racing for ages 5-14 years old

JDT is open to all skiers ages 5 to 14, of all ability levels.

JDT Racers are encouraged to attend scheduled events which include races held at Swiss Valley, Timber Ridge, Bittersweet, Cannonsburg, Mt. Brighton, Alpine Valley, and Caberfae Peaks. JDT Director, Jennifer Perry Ross, leads the coaching team made up of former racers and professional ski instructors. This program is extremely affordable with each team member enjoying up to 35 hours of instruction and coaching for only $150. Lift tickets & additional event fees not included.

Program Goals & Training

The JDT program’s primary goal is to give our team members a chance to learn the art of ski racing and improve their overall skiing skills while having fun. Team Participation includes a Holiday JDT Race Camp along with weekly practices scheduled for Tuesday nights and weekend mornings.

Membership Deadline December 12th – REGISTER NOW!

Membership must be purchased by December 12, 2021, limited space available. Membership cost is $150.00 for the season.

Parents are encouraged to participate in the complimentary Tuesday Night Parent Ski Clinics, held at the same time as JDT practice. Our Parent Instructor plans a fun lesson each week and also spends time discussing race basics for maximum parent involvement. No additional cost, just show up! Updates for the lessons will be posted on the JDT Facebook group page. Lesson content varies.

Wednesday Race League is Back – All Abilities Welcome!

WEDNESDAY NIGHT RACE LEAGUE RETURNS TO SWISS VALLEY! We encourage all to participate. Join us for this family friendly competition and night out at Swiss Valley.

Wednesday Night Racing will take place the first 6 Wednesdays of 2022. Join us for gate bashing fun for just $75 in advance for the whole season or $20/night if paid day of. Swiss Valley provides an excellent opportunity for any advanced beginner through expert skier, of all ages – male or female, to hit the gates and have some fun! Mom, Dad, Teenager, Neighbor, Friends, Co-Workers are all invited to join our scheduled Wednesday night racing.

On our race nights, two courses will be set by 6:00PM. Each racer is encouraged to make 4 runs with the best of two being used for the nightly awards. Enjoy awards, food and drink specials in our Chalet or Fireside Picnic Area to celebrate your victory. Those under the age of 21 will celebrate Fireside after racing while those 21 & Up can tell gate bashing stories while enjoying food and drink specials in the Chalet.

RACE FORMAT We will have two divisions, Adult/Challenge & Novice/Family:

The Adult/Challenge Course will be for those expecting a more technically challenging race course and for those with racing experience.

The Novice/Family Course will be set to encourage skill development and advance your skiing technique through the challenge of competition.

Scoring will be points based and by division/class.
